What an enchanting poster! This colorful and whimsical poster advertises a fun operetta first performed in 1905 and written by Austro-Hungarian composer Franz Lehár. This musical romantic comedy of sorts tells the tale of a rich widow who’s “countryman” (turn on the century terminology) attempts to find her the right second husband in an effort to keep her wealth in the principality. Numerous productions with different casts had been performed all throughout Europe after its initial debut, and there was even an English adaptation. Any theater buff or music lover will love this poster as part of a collection, although you don’t need to be an aficionado to have this colorful and fabulous poster as a new addition in your home!
