" Britain in Spring". 1948.
30" x 20"
Donald Towner. W.S. Cowell Ltd., London.
# P-1777
An original vintage travel poster to Britain. In the late-1940's, a series of generic travel posters (meaning not in conjunction with a railroad, airline, or specific destination), were created by important British artists of the time. The poster campaign emphasized the different seasons in Britain and recreational activities that would appeal to a wide array of tourists. Here, Donald Chisholm Towner (1903-1985) lends his impressionist artwork to the Spring version. Linen-backed.
