Jules Cheret. Imprimerie Chaix.
# P-1319
A rare, original antique advertising poster by important poster artist, Jules Cheret. Toady, "Le Figaro" is one of the leading French daily newspapers. Founded in 1826, the paper was published irregularly until the late 1850s. By the mid 1860s, regular contributors, such as Albert Wolff and Emile Zola, helped push the newspaper to high circulation numbers. Nearing the end of the century, the paper began hiring important poster artists to create artwork for both the newspaper and advertising posters for the paper. Extremely rich colors. In "A-" condition. Linen-backed.
